The components comprising a house were unrelated before its construction. That’s why I am talking about references. My relationships with teachers, occasionally great ones, whose teachings are now part of my thought, need to be mentioned. I could not find a more aggregate material to name them, other than “references.” Because it is from aggregate materials that a structured unit is composed.

 Self-references are at the same time familiar and alien. They have already sailed, they travel away from me on their own. This has been said by great thinkers.
